Announcement of Semi-Retirement

Mitchell Selig has formally announced his semi-retirement, effective January 1, 2011. Mitchell Selig started with Benjamin J Selig & Company in 1960 as a staff accountant under his father's employment, eventually working his way up to partner, then to sole-proprietor. The company was renamed Selig & Company, P.C. in 1991 when Mitchell and Leonid Butrimowicz formed a business association. In 2001, Mitchell's ownership interest was reacquired by the firm and Walter Saulenas was admitted as a shareholder. Mitchell then retained his relationship with the company, as a full-time consultant.
During the past few years, Mitchell has gradually reduced his time committed to the firm. His immeasurable contribution and involvement in the firm's success are truly appreciated by the officers, staff and clients of Selig & Company, P.C. His numerous business contacts, unsurpassable knowledge, experience, and unchallengeable work ethic may never be fully replaced.
During this period of transition towards full retirement, he will remain with the company as a part-time consultant. The firm intends to supplement his service with the addition of another accounting professional. Nonetheless, Selig & Company, P.C. is able to meet the needs of all clients with our current duly qualified professional staff.
